Nuclear Power’s Future in the UK

Just as I felt some relief reading a Reuters article about nuclear protests in Germany (please refer to my German Nuclear Power Protests posting), my heart sank when I read Centrica’s Roger Carr pedalling the myth that nuclear power is key to the UK’s energy future.

There are so many issues with nuclear power that, over the next few days, I am going to recycle some of my old blogs for the Green Party and Greenpeace – hopefully, the postings will help readers realise that nuclear power is not the future.

Perhaps Roger Carr is unaware the Centre for Alternative Technology has published the second report of the Zero Carbon Britain project, Zero Carbon Britain 2030 – A New Energy Strategy, which shows how we can reach zero carbon by 2030 without nuclear (or CCS with fossil fuels).
