Orangutan Rehabilitation

Mongabay has published a lovely article about the jungle release of a pair of orangutans named Saut and Frangki.  The article gives an idea of what is involved in such a release and is quite humorous in part as well as being a good news story.

Saut is the main focus of the article and seems quite a character.  At one point, the writer lost sight of Saut and three hours later, when it became dark, there was still no sight or sound of him. The writer received reports stating that Saut returned to the camp’s vicinity the day after the writer left and believes Saut was sitting “quietly on a branch of a leafy tree while noisy people walk around under him, calling and scanning”!
