As part of the integration of the new EU Directive on animal experiments into UK legislation, the government proposes to allow stray domestic animals to be used in experiments. The government even wants to slip this change through the House of Commons with no debate.
The BUAV is working hard to prevent this obscene proposal and has obtained a meeting with the Home Office to press their objections, however, they are also calling for MPs to insist on a full debate on the transposition of the EU proposals.
Please write to your MP and help the BUAV to ensure the government’s proposal – an offence against moral principles – never becomes law. Thank you.
