According to the report, there are 152 cats in Kent branches awaiting suitable homes. Waiting list figures are not available because most branches have closed their lists because they are so long.
The Cats Protection’s Kent branches have issued an emergency appeal for new owners to come forward to help tackle the dramatic rise in the number of homeless cats needing the charity’s help.
Another (longer term) way in which to help tackle the problem of unwanted cats is neutering. Did you know that one un-neutered female cat can be responsible for 20,000 descendants in just five years? (You may wish to view my blog about Cats Protection’s early neutering campaign.)
